The narrow staircase to reach the room required careful navigation, particularly on higher floors. Opening the room door posed a challenge. It took multiple attempts to get it right.

The food scene is a total winner! We gorged on prime steaks at White Elephant and had a fab time at nearby Americano Bar & Kitchen. The Duke Suite was lovely, and the location couldn't be better for exploring Amsterdam.
We had a bit of a tricky time with the door-it took a few attempts to get it open.

The staff were very friendly.
The shower didn't get very hot and the room (Dream Room) smelt of damp due to a massive damp patch on the ceiling that was mouldy.

Great location and quirky style.
Roof leaked on the last night. Staff very apologetic although not much could be done at 4.45 in the morning and we were checking out about 2 hours later.

Staying at amstel corner was great! The hotel is right in the city center, just a short walk to the historic sites. The main floor room was small but cozy and beautifully decorated. I loved the kitchenette and daily cleaning was a nice touch. The host was super friendly and always ready to help.

Location is great. 5-10 min walk to Rembrandt Plein where are all the bars/restaurant. It's very quiet, not an hotel at all, more like a b&b type of place.
We had the Dream Room for 3 nights, it's rather small and the bathroom is tiny. It would need a bit of refurbishment as it doesn't look as nice as shown on the pix. The price is a bit high for what it is (doesn't include the breakfast) but the kitchen area was really convenient. We have asked for an extra pillow which we didn't get... Otherwise the owner was hepful, showing us where to go for a nice diner...

The honeymoon room was very light and airy, with a huge comfortable bed. Very pleasant.
Was disappointed not to receive champagne for our honeymoon (as porevious reviews stated)! Was a little bit too far out of the centre.

It is not actually a hotel, more like apartments. The location is very good, close to tram station. It was easy to get to city center by foot as well. The room had a view in the back yard and it was very quiet, away from city's noise.
The room was very different from what we expected, not at all like in the photos. Very, very small, with a tiny bathroom. There is no closet, so we could not really unpack. I am aware that probably most rooms in Amsterdam are similar, however, based on reviewes and pictures on the site, I was expecting more. Anyway, it was acceptable, considering the price and the location.

The atmosphere created by the historical textures in our room, along with Fokko's warm hospitality, genuinely made our trip lovely.

Kitchenette to make own dishes/breakfast
No hint of really narrow, steep staircases in the description. You really have to watch out your step each time and the hotel is no choice for people with problems to walk or climb stairs
